The Pathways Recent Graduates Program allows recent graduates to enter VA in career positions that emphasize long-term training and development. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic developmental program with potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. The program lasts for one year or more. If you are a current Pathways Recent Graduate, visit Pathways at VA for more information and resources that can help you throughout your program.
The Pathways Recent Graduates Program is open to recent graduates who are legally permitted to work in the U. To be eligible, you must have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree, or certificate from a qualifying educational institution. Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have as many as six years after degree completion to apply.
Qualifications will vary by specific career field. Each opening should also include information about whether there is an opportunity to advance after you complete the program. The Pathways Recent Graduates Program provides recent graduates with valuable training, hands-on work experience, and professional development opportunities.
Participants have the opportunity to gain marketable skills and competencies, receive a mentor and a supervisor for dedicated guidance and support, and contribute to the larger mission of VA in a meaningful way.
Those who successfully complete program requirements may also be eligible for conversion to a full-time position. For a complete list of program and conversion requirements, review the VA Pathways Program Requirements. The application processes may vary, depending on the position.

All career fields are eligible for the Pathways Recent Graduates Program if positions in their career field are available. Individuals selected for the VA Pathways Recent Graduates Program will generally be appointed to positions up to the GS-9 level or equivalent and placed in a one-year career development program, though certain career fields in science and technology may be eligible for appointment to the GS or GS level or equivalent.
After successful completion of the program requirements, the individual may, at the agency’s discretion, be converted to a term or permanent appointment.

College of the Sequoias, Early College Success Liaison will support students and work with them throughout the semester to ensure they are successful in the early college process.
Students who have been pursuing honors or advanced placement courses may benefit from exploring the Early College Pathway. Honors and advanced placement have traditionally provided students with added rigor, augmented grade point averages, and possible college credit. Early college courses offer all of the same opportunities in addition to the benefits of being a college student, navigating the college systems.
An early college experience provides students with the confidence to test their abilities—before applications, SATs, and financial aid even enter the equation. The Veterans Resource Center VRC is committed to easing the transition process and supporting the success of our veterans, reservists, active duty personnel and dependents of veterans. The VRC provides support services and referrals to external support services for student veterans, reservists, active military personnel, and their families.
Priority Registration is available to Veterans who have been released from active duty in the last 15 years who have a discharge that is other than dishonorable. Priority is also available for current reservist and active duty service members. In order to receive priority registration students must provide a DD showing their discharge status, or a copy of military orders to the VRC.
A student who is a member of an active or reserve United States military service and receives orders compelling a withdrawal from courses shall be permitted to withdraw upon verification of such orders. Military withdrawals shall not be counted in determining registration priority, progress probation, and dismissal calculations. In no case will a military withdrawal be counted for the permitted number of withdrawals.
Students who were compelled to withdraw from the college due to a military service obligation will be readmitted to the same academic status as when the student las attended the college. The student will maintain catalog rights to specific degree and General Education Requirements as long as the student is reasonably prepared to resume their program at the point the student left off and the program is still offered.
A student’s right to be readmitted at their previous academic status will be terminated in the case of a dishonorable discharge or bad conduct discharge, general court-martial, federal or state prison sentence or other reasons as described in 34 CFR The District will not impose a penalty, or require beneficiary to borrow additional funds to cover tuition and fees due to late payments from VA.
The program provides access to educational training for referred clients from both entities.
